Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Crosshair browser extension (“Crosshair”, “the Product”, “we”) handles user data. It is provided to comply with the Chrome Web Store Privacy Policies and the User Data Policy.
1. Who we are
Crosshair is developed by Horbenko Maksym. All rights belong to Horbenko Maksym. For privacy questions, email gorbenkomaxym@gmail.com.
2. How the Product collects user data
Crosshair does not collect personal information. It does not create accounts, does not use analytics, advertising, cookies, or tracking, and does not send data to our servers or to any other party. Crosshair has no remote backend.
The only data stored is optional product settings that you choose in the
extension popup. These settings are saved locally on your device using
Chrome’s extension storage (chrome.storage.local):
- line thickness
- line color
- whether the overlay is dismissed on click
- keyboard shortcut
- theme preference (system, light, or dark)
- language preference
This data is generated only from your interaction with the Product settings. We do not read website content, browsing history, names, emails, passwords, payment information, location, or other personal data.
3. How the Product uses user data
Local settings are used only to:
- remember how you configured the crosshair overlay
- apply those settings the next time you use Crosshair
Settings are not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to providing the overlay.
4. How the Product shares user data
Crosshair does not share user data with anyone. There are no third parties, affiliates, advertisers, analytics providers, or other recipients of user data.
Parties with whom user data is shared: none.
5. Sale of user data
Crosshair does not sell, rent, or trade user data. We do not transfer data for monetary or other valuable consideration.
6. Storage and security
Settings remain on your computer inside the browser profile. They are not uploaded. Access is limited to the Crosshair extension running in your browser, using Chrome’s local storage APIs.
7. Retention and deletion
Settings are kept on the device until you change them, reset them in the Product, remove the extension, or clear the extension’s data in Chrome settings. Uninstalling Crosshair deletes its locally stored settings.
8. Permissions
Crosshair requests only the permissions needed to provide the overlay:
- Storage — to save your settings on this device.
- Access to websites — so the crosshair overlay can be drawn on the page you are viewing. The Product does not read, collect, store, or transmit page content, form data, or browsing history.
9. Third-party services
Crosshair does not embed third-party SDKs, ads, payment processors, or cloud services. No user data is transferred internationally by us, because no user data leaves the device.
10. Children’s privacy
Crosshair is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
Crosshair complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data handled by the Product (local settings only) is used solely to provide the Crosshair feature. It is not sold and is not used to determine creditworthiness or for advertising.
12. Changes to this policy
If this Privacy Policy changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Product after an update means you accept the revised policy.
